A New Place of Residence

We had our home inspection, termite inspection, and appraisal this morning on our new home so I had an opportunity to take some pictures of where we will be taking up residency in late July! Here she is:
my favorite part :)

Grilled Pizza

We religiously watch The Food Network and we have seen all of the celeberity chefs talking about grilling pizza. Josh tried it out tonight and it worked out great! He fixed his usual pepperoni pizza delicousness--except he put the cheese and pepperonis on and forgot to put the sauce on--so he had to put that on the top of the cheese and pepperonis--a little Chicago style :) He slipped in on the grill and in no time, it was ready to be eaten!

I really need to learn to take food photography--it does NOT look nearly as appetizing as it tasted

Summer Ball

Josh and I went with my dad and Kim to one of Banks' summer ball games in Clemson--since they were playing in Doug Kingsmore. It was blazing hot--I thought we were going to die from heat exhaustion. (I know I'm dramatic!) It was a good excuse to check out the new to me "Tiger Slab"--they moved the creamery to the Hendrix Center from the P and A building--I'm happy to report it is still as delicious as ever :) Banks also got to meet us at Mellow Mushroom after his game and we were as amused as ever by his story telling ability.

as you can see, noone was as stupid as us to sit through the heat--so we got really great seats :)Banks diminished all hopes of getting a good picture of him--he hates taking pictures. He thought I was a total dork trying to snap a pic of him in coaching action.so this was my atempt--as you can see, a pathetic one.a peek of Death Valley

413 Revis Creek Court

I found it necessary to take pictures of our house so that I will remember it when we're 90 years old. I want to be able to look back and remember this little humble abode that was the place of our engagment in 2006, our first house we lived together, and where we got our first puppy. While we are thrilled to have sold our house relatively quickly, it is bittersweet and somewhat emotional for me. I'm sure I'll get over it as sooooon as I'm in the new house and have a closet that holds alllllll my clothes!
Here is my documentation:

our bedroom--we just made up the bed with clean linens--so that's why we don't have the fancy pillows on there. White duvet--I'm not a fan, I love the monogram but not the whiteness. Our next one will NOT be white!and here is our den with the Michael Jackon documentary on the televisionand the foyer--I could've taken a better picture of the table/mirror set up.here's our bistro style table and breakfast nook--one of my favorite places in the house :)and our kitchen--MAP gave us the most precious plate that hangs over our stove that says "The Vickery's with our wedding date--one of my most favorite wedding gifts. I will be more than happy to get dark cabinets...I hate this orange look. To the left of the stove is the perfect amount of space for my red kitchenaid mixer. and our guest bathroomhad to remember the cornice board! one of my most favorite things we "did" to the house.if you had ever come to visit us the past two years, this is where you would have stayed--in the cozy blue room. I love this sweet little room.and THIS is where all the other crap that we have that doesnt' have a place in the above listed rooms, goes. Office would be the most appropriate name...along with the place that I sew.

Hope you enjoyed your private tour :) I will give you a new tour of the new house soon!

What a birthday!

Whew...the following events happened today:

  • Our house appraised! YIPPEE!!
  • Josh's dad got in a wreck on Woodruff road when he got off work--he is going to the hospital to get checked out, but they think he will be fine. It is very stressful and will shake you up when you get in a wreck, and we are so thankful that he wasn't seriously injured.
  • Michael Jackson died. WHAT??
  • Farrah Fawcett died.

This is a day to remember!

On another note--I have enjoyed a relaxing day of working out this morning, washing some clothes and linens, Kelli treating me to a delicous lunch at Mary's, and Josh getting home early from work! We road out to Fresh Market and picked up some yummy food to cook--and we're working on it now! It's been a great day! Thanks again Kelli for celebrating with me! and my candle smells deeeeeeelicous in my house...makes me want some birthday cake :)

House Update

Well friends--we have passed home inspection, termite, and radon. The appraisal has been done and we are waiting on the results of that...and THEN we can get excited about selling our house. I am really hoping that we will hear something tomorrow...it's been six days! We do have a contract on a home that we are thrilled about, contingent upon the closing of our current house. We are trying not to get too excited yet, and I haven't even begun packing up the house--trying not to put the cart before the horse!
I have spent the majority of the past two weeks on the phone getting quotes from mortage loans to termite people to home insurance to inspectors to attorneys. It is exhausting....the light is at the end of the tunnel and I have even brought out my handy girl side by making two screens for the windows from scratch! (like...I had to use a saw!) Thank goodness for Lowes and their willingness to teach me!
Habitat for Humanity had also come by our house last week to pick up an odd assortment of things we wanted to get rid of--our screen door was one of them. The inspection report came the day later--stating that the buyer wanted the storm door. Josh called HH back up and explained the situation and they told him he had to buy the door back! Are you kidding me??? Luckily we worked THAT out and got our door back, free of charge :) ONLY us! Selling a home is soooooooo much fun

New Camera

I have been really wanting a new SLR camera for a while--I toyed around with either the Nikon or Cannon. Josh's parents, Carolyn, and my mom all gave me money for my birthday so that I could put it towards the new camera--and I went to purchase it today! I decided on the Nikon--I have spent the majority of the night reading the manual and trying to figure out what the buttons mean. Hopefully I will learn as I go! Gracie was my only subject tonight (except for flowers)--she was getting rather tired of me saying "Gracie!" to get her to look at the camera. She didn't get what the fuss was about :)
Thanks family for my birthday camera! I love it!!
Here's what I took tonight:

Where are we moving?

GOOD question! I promise to fill everyone in as soon as we know something :) We are most definitely relying on God--and that He has this whole little plan mapped out--and that it will be revealed to us soon! Moving is for the BIRDS...note to self--don't do it again unless absolutely necessary!!
On another hand...we do have two hurdles left to jump through with the selling of our current home--it's gotta pass inspection, a radon test, and appraisal!

Benson's 2nd Birthday

Benson (Jessica's little boy) turned TWO! I cannot believe he has already been in this world for two sweet years. It seems like yesterday she was on "bed rest" and we were having a baby shower for her at HER house! :) Benson is the stinking cutest kid....love him to pieces. He is hilarious and makes me laugh religiously!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Benson!! (Sorry for the pathetic picture...he had the paprazzi on him...and this was was close as I could get to the little man!) Josh and I gave him two puzzles and a monkey book...he got some WAY cool presents, I'm sure mine were lame-o compared. At LEAST educational though...I know mommy will approve Benson! :)

I got to see Stephanie!
Three of my favorite people and best friends! (Kelli, Jessica, me, and Stephanie)

Sugarland and Keith Urban

Mary Alice, Darlene and Stephen came up to Greenville for the Sugarland/Keith Urban concert. MAP invited me to tag along with them for my birthday and the show was fantastic! My favorite concert of all time! and I've been to a lot! Stephen got us wonderful seats...four rows from Keith himself! I was totally starstruck and never had that great of a location at a concert!

I did take a picture of Sugarland too--but the color came out rediculous so I'm not even bothering!MAP (she DID have a shirt on, by the way!), me, and Darlene...Darlene had a picture of all 4 of us...I will steal it and post it soon!I had fun celebrating the big 2-6 with you!!! Thanks for inviting me! Love ya!

sweet crab dress

I took a "Mary De" (that's the name of the dress) class the past two weeks--I wasn't really feeling the style of this dress, but I ended up loving it and think it's adorable. The crabs are still missing their smiles--gotta get on that--but regardless, you can still see the cuteness!

April and Thomas' Wedding Celebration!

We headed to Athens on Friday to celebrate April and Thomas. It was a great time and we really enjoyed being with friends. We stayed at the Foundry Inn downtown and it was in a great location close to everything. This was the first wedding Josh has been in (other than ours), yet he was a PRO at it! He did awesome!
