Pumpkin Patch

Ellie and I went to the Simpsonville pumpkin patch Wednesday morning.  I use the word patch loosely because it's really just a plot with all different sizes of already picked pumpkins--but she likes exploring it regardless.

She had to give all the big pumpkins hugs before we left.
and she picked one out that was just her size.

Boo at the Zoo

We were very ambitious and decided to tackle Boo at the Zoo the same day we took E to the fair--luckily she took a good nap and we had a great time at the zoo.  Riverbanks does a precious job with Boo at the Zoo and it is one of my favorite fall activities for Ellie.
We haven't been to the zoo in a while so she was thrilled when we pulled up and she saw where we were.  She loved her elephant costume and even liked having the hood pulled up.  My favorite part of the costume was how her little tail swished when she walked!
She got the hang of saying "trick or treat" when she went up to each booth--she loved holding her pumpkin bag and letting them drop the candy in.
 The elephant with an elephant!
I think her favorite part was a HUGE bubble pit.  She is obsessed with bubbles and this was a little slice of heaven for her.
Happy Halloween from our little elephant!

SC State Fair 2013

Grammy and I took Ellie to the fair last Friday morning.  Unfortunately our schedule with football didn't allow for us to come on the weekend for Josh to come too-but we had a blast!  We had told her all week that she was going to see animals on Friday and she obsessively reminded us of that fact every single chance that she got.
We spent the majority of our time with the animals.  The horses were definitely her favorite and she loved watching the teenagers riding them around in the ring.
She rode 3 rides--the merry go round (of course), the train and then she wanted to ride the caterpillar (mini) rollercoaster so I rode it with her.  She loved it until the mini drop--I guess her stomach dropped too--and she looked at me and signed and said "done".  We still had another loop around unfortunately and she burst into tears after we went down the drop again.  I'm afraid she may be traumatized for life.  Fingers crossed she will get over her fear and will want to ride roller coasters with me when she's older!  Josh has no interest and I love them!
 Pure delight watching the neigh-neighs!
She loved the fair food too and shared some corn dog, fiske fries, an otis spunkenmeyer cookie, and some ice cream on the way out.  She also slurped up my lemonade like she had never tasted anything so good before in her life!
One of our favorite fall traditions...can't wait until next year!

Elmo

Grammy took us (really Ellie--we just tagged along) to see Elmo's music magic show a couple of weekends ago.  Elmo is the one character that she really does love and she loved the show!
Not too many photo ops available but she did great the first half, the second half we were losing her a little bit...her attention to the show competing with a ten dollar balloon that her daddy bought for her (that is still going strong flying happily on her chair).
Thanks Grammy for the special treat and Ellie's first show (of many, I'm sure!)
