Camera Strap

Court has an adorable camera strap and I decided I wanted one. I did some research and using a combination of a couple of tutorials, I was able to sew one in less than one hour. I consider this a practice one--I will have to refine my skills and make another one soon! This was fabric I had laying around the house...so I will probably go with a more gender neutral color as well, for Josh's sake :)

SuperRegionals

Clemson hosted the SuperRegionals versus Alabama last weekend and we got tickets for the series. Josh and I went Saturday and Sunday nights and I went with Banks and Dad Monday afternoon. It was absolutely miserably hot, however winning made it worth it!!

I think I took this picture prior to nearly having a heart attack in the third game, bottom of the ninth. Sheesh. Clemson Athletics are not good for my health!

Celebrating with the cheap seats!

Random Things...

Ok...this is a completely random post. You know those tags that are you in your clothes from Loft that you're supposed to cut out? Yeah, I never do. I was tired of sounding off Belk and Best Buy so I went through my closet and cut out all that I could find. I counted. It was 35. Oops.

We went to Soby's yesterday for brunch with a birthday gift card of Josh's. Since it was Father's Day they had cute themed desserts. This was a cupcake hamburger. Couldn't resist taking a picture of it, although it would have been more successful had I turned the flash off. Oh well.

Summer Digs

Summer has been here a week and already it has been awesome. Here are some of the things I'm digging this summer...
Lap Swimming. I wake up when Josh does and head to the gym to swim laps. I did it all last summer as well, and sometimes I feel like an idiot, but I really do love it. It's just a change from my usual exercise routine. Brings me back to Topspin Swim Team. Some of my best summer days were spent there with Katie and Sarah.

Summer Movies. I am unsure as to WHY movies are better in the summer, but they are. Back in the day, I worked with awesome girls at Loft in Columbia and we would go to dinner and a movie every single Sunday in the summer, without fail. A very sweet memory. Mom convinced me to come home to go to a small theater that shows Indie and foreign films, because "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" was playing. The entire film was spoken in another language and we had to read the captions, but surprisingly, it was quite enjoyable.

Reading. I have been slightly obsessed with it this summer. I have and always will be a bookworm, but it seems there are SO many books right now that I want to read. Me and the library are BF's.

I have been looking for a good pasta salad to make-and this one is awesome. It's just a good light lunch. To see recipe, google Cooking Light Roasted Chicken and Bowtie Pasta.

Roadside Vegetable/Fruit Stands. I especially have fallen in love with Farmer's Shed in Lexington. They have chicken salad and pimento cheese by the pint--perfect when we feel like having a "smorgasboard" kind of dinner--where we throw everything in the fridge and pantry on the island and eat standing up :)

Our Neighborhood Pool. Endless entertainment and relaxation!

Zac Brown Band

We went to see Zac Brown Band in concert Friday night in Simpsonville's ampitheater. (Which, as a side note...is really nice, by the way.) They put on a great show (aside from the hour and fiften minute intermission due to thunderstorms) and it was a great way to kick off summer! We also ran into dear friends--which made it even better!

Summer Has Arrived!!

Today is officially the first day of summer--and in my opinion, the BEST day of summer. We have all of summer before us! Have I mentioned I LOVE my job! :) Just in case you've ever had a burning desire to see my "home" for 35 hours a week--here is my humble abode at school. I really should do more with the place, to make my time there more bearable. We had to clear off everything from the moveable bookshelves and the tops of our cabinets--so while you see a "clean" room--what you don't see is how I've shoved and pushed all the crap I have accumulated inside the cabinets! Ooops!! I'll deal with it come August. Until then....SCHOOL'S OUT FOR THE SUMMER!!!!

Little Piece of Paper

Look what came in the mail today! A letter stating my student loans are paid off in FULL! What a way to end the last day of school!

I had teacher's loan throughout undergrad and graduate school and it was SUCH a blessing. To pay off--I simply had to work in a "critical needs" school and/or subject area. Luckily, speech and my school were critical needs to it paid off in 3 years! Yahooo!!!
