Sweet Thomas is 9 Months! He continues to be an angel baby...so pleasant with the best demeanor. We love him so.
At 9 months...
He is learning cause and effect. Pop up toys are some of his favorites--he pushes the button to make them pop up and then puts them down and repeats...over and over again.
Also loves throwing toys and food over his highchair...again, learned cause and effect. Much to my dismay. We are thankful that we have Gracie to be our vacuum at meal times.
He is definitely observant and soaking up the world around him.
Thomas is in...
6 and 9 month clothes
12 month pj's
size 4 diapers
I tried a shoe on him and he's in a size 0-1. Thinking he may have an itty foot like Ellie
Stats from his well visit:
Weight: 19 lbs (22%)
Length: 28 1/4" (47%)
Head Circumference: 17" (14%)
Milestones this month:
Cruising on everything possible.
Walking behind everything possible.
New sounds! Dada, baba, and LOTS of mama's
Knock on wood, but he doesn't seem to mind his car seat or riding in the car. Ellie was a living NIGHTMARE in the car, so I do not take it for granted that Thomas rarely screams or cries when he's buckled up.
He loves peek a boo, loves people chasing him, and loves his big sister when she is being sweet to him.
Food:
He eats three meals with us--breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Prefers table foods to baby food.
Favorite foods: eggs, pasta, bread, sweet potatoes, applesauce mixed with shredded chicken
We've incorporated some dairy into his diet, and so far so good. Hoping to try yogurt this week.
I stopped nursing/pumping this month. The supply vanished once he started solids, which I heard is typical but it still made me sad. He will be starting a little formula mixed with the remaining frozen stash of milk.
He learned how to suck from a straw cup! He LOVES the cup and gets so excited when I give it to him. I've given him water and almond milk so far.
He loves his lovie when he's in the car and sleeping in the crib. He continues to be a thumb sucker but doesn't necessarily associate the thumb with the lovie (like Ellie does). I'm afraid he's going to be a bit tougher to kick the habit.
Schedule is the same as last month...
except we let him sleep until 7:30. It is pretty much amazing on the weekends.
He still has some stranger danger but is improving with being dropped off for church nursery. It helps when the person getting him from us has blonde hair. Brunettes and men are not his favorite.
He claps his hands by banging his hands on the floor or whatever surface is close by. Trying to get him to get his hands together.
Also working on getting him to wave and to shake his head no.
Sweet baby boy! I can't believe you are NINE MONTHS OLD!
