11 Month "Chair" pictures

as usual--I can never just pick one (or five)!
We took her in to see the Doctor tonight because she has a clear drippy nose and had been pulling on her ear.  She's never had an ear infection before so I just don't know how she would act if she had one and always better safe than sorry--but we got the good clean bill of health!
They did weigh her, which I always like--and she was 17 lbs, 4 oz--6th percentile.
I look at her and think that she doesn't look so tiny compared to other babies but I guess she really is.  She's still staying on her growth curve though, which is the important thing.

Ellie is 11 Months!

This has been one of Ellie's biggest developmental months!  We have loved watching her grow and it seems she is learning a new skill daily.  One of those skills being tantrums--Josh and I have our work cut out for us in the discipline department!
 At 11 months...
Ellie is crawling!  We thought the day would never come--I'm so glad she decided to crawl rather than skip it and just walk.  It is adorable to see and now we clearly know what she has been wanting to get into the past 11 months.  Her little knees are red at the end of the day from so much crawling!
She's made huge leaps in her speech this month--she's constantly babbling and making lots of new sounds.  Some new consonants that she's consistent on now are n, b, d, g, k.  She is also changing her intonation to match ours and when she's babbling it's like she thinks we really understand what she's saying.  She has also started a new giggle the past couple of days--I am going to try to catch it on video soon.
Ellie is very cautiously cruising the furniture and whatever she can get her hands on to move.  She prefers to be standing up, even if it's just hanging on to the couch.
She has a pop up toy--with five different animals that pop up and she is able to push them down--hasn't learned how to get them up yet!
She's feeding herself very well but she's also eating baby food again--and letting us feed her if we need to, Praise the Lord!  It makes getting food in her so much easier when she allows us to help!  One of her top teeth broke through and that is my only explanation for the food revolt.  She is also drinking from straw cups--whether it's hers or ours.  She loves the straw!
She loves being thrown up in the air and then dropped down low--she will giggle and giggle.  She is turning pages in books and continues to love being read to.  She shakes her head when she hears the word "no" or "don't" or "shouldn't".  She waves hi and bye backward--towards herself.  I love it!
She is throwing balls back and forth and does a great "wind up" although she is picking up on just rearing it back and throwing it without the wind up--sad, because it's adorable.
Gracie is her best friend--although Gracie does not reciprocate the love.  Ellie wants to be wherever she is in the room and thinks she is the silliest thing ever.
She gives kisses to us and her toys and whoever else we tell her to.
We go on daily walks and she's a great rider in her stroller.  It's my only daily exercise so I'm thankful she doesn't mind it.
She has started sucking her thumb to sooth herself when she is going to sleep--thankfully she doesn't suck it any other time during the day and she only sucks it for 5 minutes or so to fall asleep.
Favorite toy: ball
Favorite food: strawberries and yogurt
Favorite drink: apple juice or tea
Favorite song: Old McDonald
 Ellie is in:
6 month and 9 month clothing--oddly they seem to fit her the same.
9 month pj's.
Size 3 diapers
No clue on her stats...I feel like she has grown this month though, especially length wise.
Ellie's schedule at 11 months is:
7/7:30--wake up and bottle (5 oz)
8:30--breakfast
9:30--nap
11:30--bottle (5 oz)
12:30--lunch
3:30--snack (first bottle feeding we've dropped)
6--dinner
7--bath; bottle (5 oz); bed

We have had a ridiculously busy month of April--and March too, honestly--and it's nice to look at our calendar in May and see that most weekends are open and will be spent here at home!  We're looking forward to her big birthday shin dig at the end of the month, but in the meantime...praying these last days before she turns 1 will creep by a little more slowly then the past 11 months!
I love this last picture...those sweet precious baby fat leg rolls that we worked so hard to get!  Her NICU doctors would be proud, I know!

crawling day

Just some pictures from the night Ellie crawled for the first time!

Ellie's latest antics!

Thank goodness for the iPhone video camera...I'm about to capture many more videos of Ellie in the moment.
Ellie crawled 5-6 "crawls" last Monday--but really started crawling full time on Sunday!  She acts like she's done it her whole life now.
My voice is ridiculous--you can just cut your volume down and watch Ellie as she turns the pages in the book.  This bath time book is definitley one of her favorites!
Josh has coined Ellie's swimming lobster as "Lobby"...here she shows off how she gives kisses.
Ellie started throwing the ball a couple of weeks ago...she usually throws with her left hand but regardless of which hand the ball is in, she always give a good wind up!
and lastly, Ellie has really started making lots of new sounds--I tried to capture some on video.  She is changing her intonation and inserting new vowels and consonant sounds and working hard to imitate our speech!
all of this from the last two weeks...Ellie has really made some huge developmental milestone jumps and while I do love them it's a reminder she's growing up way too fast!

Lexington Baseball

Ellie and I were able to make it to Banks' last regular season game versus AC Flora.  Flora is the #1 ranked 3A team and Lexington is the #1 4A team so it made for a good match up!
no gator ride this time but she did sit on the lawn mower for a minute or two!
not too crazy about the mower OR the grass
I had taken probably 20 pictures and again realized my camera was on manuel and a really high shutter speed so of course it led to 20 black pictures....an alarm would be nice as a reminder to me :)
an hour past bedtime and a very sleepy baby girl
She looks less than thrilled to be with her uncle bubba but she did give him night night kisses before we left!
and he's pretty much smitten by her...he calls her "my girl".
Lexington starts playoffs on Thursday for district...good luck wildcats!

Strawberries

We took Ellie strawberry pickin' for the first time Saturday morning!
She loved it!  and I loved taking pictures...as evidenced in this post.
She would sit so nicely on the dirt mound and just play with the leaves and as we picked I would just move her down the row...it worked out quite nicely, as luck would have it.
I put a strawberry in her hand and she immediately knew what to do with it
She's a strawberry lover so she had no issues nibbling away during our adventure
after a couple of bites she just went ahead and shoved the entire berry in her mouth
juice was pouring out of her mouth and all over her clothes and mouth and hands...and my ocd self breathed deeply and allowed her to just enjoy the moment.  I very much surprised myself!

we hope to make another trip this season before they are all gone!

leftover pics

Here are some pictures that were on our small camera that somehow never made it to the blog
from our beautiful outing downtown greenville

and ellie checking out her book at bouncing babies!
